My Time in Asia is Just Beginning

I’ve been traversing across Asia for the past few days, visiting all the major locations in each country and city I’ve visited. So far I’ve been in China, Singapore, South Korea and Indonesia and now I’m headed for Hong Kong. I took a long train from mainland China which was very interesting and exciting. I’m planning on visiting Macau next, as it’s not too far from Hong Kong, looks beautiful, and is right on the coast. I looked at some hotels in Hong Kong and found that many of them are perfectly reasonable and still carry 4 or 5 stars, some with excellent views of the water. I’m excited about heading there next as Hong Kong looks to be the perfect place with plenty to see and do.

    Otis Chandler talks L.A. Times

Otis Chandler assumed the helm as Los Angeles Times as publisher in 1960.

“It wasn’t one of the worst newspapers, but it wasn’t one of the best,” Chandler said before getting NCR pads. “It was a WASP newspaper. It was local. It was provincial.

”

“What I did was I decided to try to make the Los Angeles Times one of the best newspapers in the world,” Chandler said. “It was the greatest growth of a single newspaper in terms of growth and advertising because of the quality of the writers we hired. We spent well over $50 million in 10 years on the editorial department…I personally recruited people. The Times became a writer’s newspaper.”

The family dynasty’s control of the newspaper dated to 1882.

Harry Chandler published the Times from 1917 to 1944. His son, Norman Chandler, published the paper from 1944 until 1960, when Otis Chandler became publisher.

    When my grandfather got old

I was saddened when my grandfather had to start using incontinence pads, but I knew it was necessary. He had started to have accidents in his trousers because he could not get to the bathroom fast enough. He had the ability to hold it, but he couldn’t walk to the bathroom in a fast enough pace. This is the reason my family decided to get him nappies. He still goes to the bathroom on the toilet, he just uses them as protection. This is the best way for us not to have to clean up urine soaked clothes but still give him independence. He has been getting sicker and sicker lately, and we will definitely miss him when he passes away from his sickness. You should put nappies on your elderly loved one, if they need it.

    It’s A Pool Party

The elderly couple needed to reconstruct the area around the underground pool in the back yard. It was already made of concrete, but they wanted something that looked a little more sophisticated so that their children would have somewhere nice to come visit. Their daughter suggested they should buy stones rocks to go around the outside edge of the pool. The couple decided to try it, and the next week, a load was delivered to the home. Someone made a decorative line around the pool, and there were enough rocks left over to go around the picnic tables near the pool. After the rocks had set overnight, the couple decided to take a dip in the pool. As soon as the rocks got wet, they tumbled into the water. The cement had not set completely, and the entire job had to be done again.

    No One Told Me

Getting old is no fun. I recently got hearing aids Rochdale after someone slipped a note under my door at the retirement home where I live. The note basically said that I need to realize that I was old and needed help hearing. It wasn’t signed, but it did prompt me to have my hearing checked. The note was right; I couldn’t hear a thing and had to get aids to help me hear.

A couple of days ago, my best friend told me she wrote the note on behalf of everyone we knew. Apparently, I had been yelling at everyone, everyone had been yelling at me, my TV was so loud it bothered everyone in the retirement community, and I was a nuisance. Why in the world didn’t someone just tell me? I didn’t know my hearing was bad. I was embarrassed to say the least, but at least my TV isn’t bothering anyone anymore.

    Golden Hands

One of the best things I experienced was a thai massage Bath. This was a treat for me as I had been very stressed from work and family issues as of late. I entered the salon and was taken back to the area where the technique was performed. Talking with the woman who had hands of gold, I discovered that she had a positive energy about her. All of my troubles seemed to float out the door, leaving my body with every move of her hands. I left the salon and went home. My children saw an immediate difference in my attitude. Something had come over me, and I knew it was the woman I had met. I went back the next day, but there was no sign of the salon at all except a small business card with the words You Have The Power.
